Delete your data
You can ask us to erase your Joinza account at any time. Requests are actioned within 30 days, and we'll email you when it's done.
What we erase
Your name, email address, phone number, password, profile photo and gallery, bio, interests, gender, age range, and location. Your notifications, buddy connections, travel plans and group memberships are deleted outright. Any complimentary plan grant is removed, and any active Joinza+ subscription is cancelled.
Afterwards your profile is no longer identifiable as you — it reads simply as "Deleted user".
What we keep, and why
Some records aren't only about you, so removing them would take away someone else's history. These stay, attached to that anonymous account:
• Reviews other members wrote. They're that member's record of their own experience.
• Opportunities you hosted that others attended, and the applications people made to them.
• Payment records, retained for seven years to meet financial and tax obligations.
• Messages, so the other people in a conversation keep their side of it.
• Safety reports about you, retained to protect other members.
This is what the GDPR's right to erasure actually requires: personal data is removed, while records with a legitimate basis for retention are kept in a form that no longer identifies you.
Groups you owned
If you created a group that other people still use, the group stays and shows "Deleted user" as its owner. Deleting it would remove something the remaining members rely on.
