Joining
How do I join an opportunity?
Open it and tap “I’m Interested”, add a line about why you want to join and your experience level. The host reviews your request alongside your Passport stats and accepts, waitlists, or passes.
What does being waitlisted mean?
All slots are currently filled. If an accepted member withdraws, the first person on the waitlist is promoted automatically and notified straight away.
Can I message the host before I’m accepted?
Yes — a limited pre-acceptance chat: text only, up to 300 characters, one message every 30 seconds. Full group chat unlocks when you’re accepted.
Why can’t I see the exact address?
For everyone’s safety, precise addresses are shared only with the host and accepted members. Listings show a suburb-level location until then.
Hosting
How fast can I post?
Under a minute. Type a phrase like “need 2 players for badminton” and the AI drafts the title, description, skill level, and slots for one-tap accept or edit.
How do I pick between applicants?
Each request shows the applicant’s attendance count, no-show percentage, star rating, and verification badge — the trust signals that matter, right where you decide.
What happens if I cancel?
Everyone who applied or was accepted is notified immediately, and any escrowed payments are refunded in full, regardless of your refund policy.
What is “confirm event started”?
For paid opportunities, confirming the start (available from 15 minutes before kick-off) releases escrowed funds to you and closes the refund window.
Payments & refunds
How does escrow work?
When you pay for a slot, Joinza holds the money — not the host. It’s released to the host only after they confirm the event started. If it never happens, you get it back.
What are the refund templates?
Flexible: full refund any time before start. Standard: full refund 24h+ before, 50% within 24h, none after start. Strict: no refunds after acceptance (ticket transfers are final). The host picks one when posting; it’s enforced automatically.
What does Joinza charge?
Joining and posting are free. Paid opportunities carry a 5–10% platform fee that funds escrow, fraud detection, and disputes.
Trust & safety
How do reviews work?
After an event completes, both sides review each other. Reviews stay hidden (“blind”) until both are in or 14 days pass — so nobody rates defensively.
What is the no-show percentage?
The share of events someone was accepted into but didn’t attend, as marked by hosts at wrap-up. It powers the reliability score on every Passport.
How do I report someone?
Every profile and opportunity has a report flow with categories (no-show, harassment, scam, unsafe behaviour). Safety-tagged reports are reviewed by a human within 4 hours.
Is there a system status page?
A public status page is coming with our hosted infrastructure. For now, service incidents are posted to our social channels and in-app notifications.
