Draft — this document has not yet been reviewed by counsel and is provided as a placeholder.
1. Who holds your data
AIDO Technologies Ltd is the data controller for Joinza. We comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, for Australian users, the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
2. What we collect
Account details (name, email, location), profile content (bio, interests, photos), activity (opportunities posted and joined, attendance, reviews), messages you send on-platform, verification status (we store the outcome, not your ID documents), and payment records (handled by our payment providers — we never store card numbers).
3. Location — deliberately fuzzy
Discovery uses suburb-level, fuzzed locations. Your precise event address is shared only with the host and accepted participants of that event. Optional live-location sharing during an event is off by default and shared only with your chosen emergency contact.
4. How we use it
To run the service (matching, notifications, payments, safety), to compute the trust signals the product is built on (reliability, ratings), for AI-assisted features (listing drafts, moderation, match scores), and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.
5. Your rights
You can access, correct, or export your information, and delete your account, from Profile settings or by contacting us. NZ users may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner; Australian users to the OAIC.
6. Retention & security
We keep data while your account is active and as required by law afterwards (e.g. payment records). Data is encrypted in transit, access-controlled, and hosted with reputable cloud providers; cross-border storage is reviewed for NZ Privacy Act compliance.
